It could be recalled that it was in April 2015 that the first Vernadsky Challenge happened. In that first edition, more than 128 applications were made. But the final challenge saw 12 participants from 5 countries. However, there were some tweaks in the rules in 2016. It was restricted to hardware startups only. This made it the biggest technology contest in the country and the prize money for that edition was increased to 2 million UAH by Max Polyakov. However, the third and final edition in 2017 had Jamie Hyneman as a member of the jury. However, preparations for the 4th edition have been kick started by Max Polyakov and applications in active bioelectronics and space technology are being accepted by the organizers.
